ABOUT US
Jared
The Apprentice
Jared is one of the newest faces in the shop, but he's already proving he belongs here. In just six months, he's stepped into head work with focus, determination, and a willingness to learn that's hard to come by — especially at his age. He's sharp, asks the right questions, and doesn't shy away from getting his hands dirty.
A graduate of NTI, Jerod came in ready to work and eager to soak up knowledge. He shows up curious, pays attention, and keeps raising his own bar. Everyday Jerad wants to be better than he was the day before — and it shows.

Stephen
The Index - Master Mechanic
Walking Knowledge
Stephen has been turning wrenches since he was 14 years old. He grew up watching and helping his dad, and that early hands - on experience stuck. Working on cars was never just a job for him — it's always been something he genuinely enjoys.
Around the shop, Stephen is the guy with the answers. He has a deep, technical understanding of how things work, and that depth of knowledge becomes obvious the moment you work with him. He's one of those people who doesn't just know what to do — he knows why it works.
Stephen is an extremely hard worker and takes a lot of pride in the work he puts out. He's a certified welder with a strong background in fabrication, and he especially enjoys building hot rods and the problem-solving that comes with them.
When something needs to be figured out or dialed in, Stephen brings a level of knowledge and focus the people around him rely on.

Dakota
Block and Flywheel Specialist
Built for the Heavy Work
Dakota is Greg's oldest son, but around the shop, he's been part of the work for as long as anyone can remember. He grew up here, watching, learning, and eventually stepping in alongside his dad. Six years in, he knows his stuff.
Dakota specializes in block work and flywheels — boring, sleeving, installing cam bearings and freeze plugs, and surfacing flywheels. He's sharp, picks things up very quickly, and has a natural feel for the work. A lot of what he handles takes both precision and muscle, and he's built for it. If it's heavy, awkward, or needs to be moved twice, Dakota's usually already on it.
He keeps things light around the shop and brings a steady sense of humor that helps the days move a little easier. Outside of work, Dakota spends most of his time hunting and fishing — it's more than a hobby for him, it's who he is, and he's happiest outdoors.
Dakota has grown alongside the shop, and it's always been a part of his life.

Miguel

Knows His Stuff - Master Mechanic
Quiet. Sharp. Reliable.
Miguel started working at G&S when he was 18 years old and has been here ever since. He shows up, stays focused, and handles what's in front of him. He's been here a long time, and people know exactly what to expect from him.
Miguel has a deep understanding of vehicles and a natural ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately. He doesn't overcomplicate things - he finds the problem, fixes it, and moves on. He's the kind of guy you can count on, no question
That consistency is what sets Miguel apart. Day in and day out, he delivers solid work, and his reliability is something the shop and its customers lean on.
Outside the shop, Miguel keeps things just as steady. He's a dedicated family man who spends most of his time with the people closest to him. He also has an appreciation for classic cars and trucks - which makes sense given how long he's been around engines.

Steve
The Standard - Master Head Machinist
Old-school, done right.
Steve's been around the car business his whole life, growing up in it with his father before spending years in both the concrete and automotive worlds. He's been at G&S for 19 years, bringing that same work ethic into the shop every day.
Steve is our go-to guy for heads. He's fast because he's precise, and precise because he doesn't miss details. Steve has a memory like an elephant and standards that don't bend, there aren't many people left who do heads the way he does.
Steve is Greg's uncle and has been a big part of the shop for two decades. He brings an old-school presence to the floor. All business when it's time to work, but always friendly, honest, and someone everyone trusts.

Bobby
Wizard - Master Machinist
Has a way of figuring things out.
Bobby's been around engines for as long as he can remember. He grew up in and around race cars, had one of his own when he was young, and never stopped being curious about how things run. If it has an engine, Bobby wants to understand it; inside and out.
He's been doing machine work for over 33 years, and after 21 of those at G&S, there isn't much that surprises him anymore. Bobby has that rare kind of knowledge you can't learn from a book. It comes from decades of hands-on work, racing, problem-solving, and paying attention to every small detail others might miss.
Around the shop, Bobby's the guy you go to when something doesn't make sense... or when it needs to be just right. He always has a way of figuring things out.
There's truly no one else like Bobby. His skill, instincts, and professionalism are one of a kind, and G&S is incredibly lucky to have him. When Bobby's involved, you know the job is in the best hands possible.

Beverly
The Heartbeat - Face of the Shop

Beverly is the heartbeat of this place.
After retiring from Boone Ritter Insurance in 2002, she came in to help her son – and never left. What started as lending a hand quickly turned into her becoming the person everyone answers to. She jumped in headfirst, learning everything she could to help the shop run smoothly and to support the people in it.
She’s the first voice you hear and usually the last one you talk to, and customers absolutely adore her. Beverly loves people. She loves conversation (maybe a bit too much). She loves helping, explaining, listening — and making sure everyone who walks through the door feels welcome and taken care of. That safe, familiar feeling people mention when they talk about this shop? That’s her.
She un-retired and hasn’t looked back for a single day. She works harder and longer than anyone here, not because she has to — but because this place, and the people in it, matter to her dearly. Beverly is the glue that holds everything together, and we wouldn’t be who we are without her.

Greg
Owner of G&S Machine Shop
Just here to do the work.
Greg has always shown up and put the work in. Early in his adult life, he attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, where he spent three years building airplane engines. It was demanding, exact work, and it set the bar for the kind of quality he's expected from himself ever since. Even then, Greg knew he wanted to own his own business one day, so he went looking for hands-on experience wherever he could find it. He began learning machine work under a good friend, Sam Weathers, picking things up the old-fashioned way — by being in the shop, asking questions, and putting in the hours. From there, he kept working, kept learning, and pushed himself to build something of his own, putting everything he had into the business from the very beginning.
Greg is a genuine, kind guy and a great father to four boys. At the shop, he keeps things straightforward — show up, do the work. He doesn't chase attention or overcomplicate things, he just keeps moving. He's never stood apart from the work. Outside the shop, Greg enjoys hunting and classic cars — with a particular soft spot for the '67-'69 Camaros.

Seth
The Journeyman - Crankshafts
Seth is the newest face in the shop. He brings four years of hands-on crankshaft grinding experience and stepped into the work with confidence right away. He is already a natural fit in the shop. Outside of G&S his interests are drag racing and automotive performance.
